In this new version the game interface had some improvements again, of which we can highlight that some windows are easier to use and the use of fonts has been improved.

From a technical point of view, the game now uses version 2 of the SDL library, which should bring improvements in hardware management such as multiple screens.

A new campaign has been added to the game, "Secrets of the ancients." Initially, it was a campaign created by a player and available in extensions. The latter, refined and well integrated into the world of Wesnoth, finally found its place among the official campaigns.

The campaign "Under the Burning Suns »has been redesigned. In particular, the desert elves have new artwork and various game-level changes make them more distinct from the wood elves.

Other campaigns, particularly Northern Rebirth's and Descent into Darkness, have been significantly redesigned, with new maps and tweaks to some existing maps and illustration improvements and portraits of the characters.

Wesnoth's scripting language for creating complex scenarios has undergone several improvements. In particular, Lua version used now is 5.3.4 and the Lua API has been augmented with the ability to write card generators to Lua. The AI configuration is also more flexible.

A correction, where you put "the wood elves" I think it should say "the forest elves", wood has these two meanings in English, but I think the second meaning is more correct. The elves' abilities in forest terrain, such as movement and protection, are superior to other factions.
