In Linux.com, the portal dedicated to the world of our beloved penguin, they have made a list of the 7 best Linux distributions according to different niches. |
Best Linux distros
Better Linux distribution: Ubuntu- Best Linux distribution for laptops: openSUSE
- Best distribution for the company: Novell SLED
- Best server distribution: RHEL Server & Hosting
- Best Linux LiveCD: KNOPPIX
- Best distribution aimed at security: BackTrack
- Best multimedia Linux distribution: Ubuntu Studio
Of course, this type of list always tends to disagree at times with the opinion of the users (distributions to taste, and that is why there are so many). But it never hurts to take a look at it, as for users who have never used a Linux distribution, it can be very helpful in their choice. I invite you to read the Linux.com article in which they explain the reason for their choices.

that analysis is based on personal tastes
Best Linux distribution: Ubuntu <--- Better in what way ??? in any case more popular
Best Linux distribution for laptops: openSUSE <--- Yes, although it gives problems with the acer one
Best distribution for the company: Novell SLED <--- why is it supported only?

NOvell SLED, in addition to support, also has a collection of programs designed for the company (internal communication, groupware, citrix client, and other herbs); In addition, everything is already prepared to log in against an Active Directory or an LDAP out of thge box. And other details that make it one of the best options to implement in the company.
In fact, of the distros I tried, for workstation it is the best for me (this is a personal opinion).
Embrace.

For me ... Linux Mint, Arch, Debian, CrunchBang, ArchBang, Trisquel and Fedora.
Personally the best distro aimed at security is Bugtraq. Not only because it is the most complete, it is more stable, more automated, with intrusion tests that go further. Come on, it's the most of the most.
"In Bugtraq we trust". Ah, I forgot, 2 guys from Madrid have made it, and at the moment it is available in 11 languages, being able to choose between based on Debian, Ubunto, and open SUSE.
Bugtraq 2 is the black widow of the distros !!!!!!!!!!
I really like ubuntu but now I have tried fedora and I am TOTALLY satisfied.
The authors have not written about tastes and colors, and I don't think they have written about which are the top lists on gnu / linux distros.
There are already lots of controversies, for testing the posts written above, for me it is simple to choose the best distro at the user level:
1 ° Choose a version and install it on your desktop or laptop.
2 ° Choose a desk (s) that is (are) to your liking or by recommendation or information on the internet.
3 ° Take the tests that you think are necessary and that adapt to your needs.
4 ° Once you have installed, reinstalled and screwed up some hard drives you will be able to decide which is the best distro for you, and if you think it is convenient to recommend it to others.
5th You are happy !! (:
