The best Mexican Linux distributions

Here is a list of the best mexican distros currently in development and that they have a community y support more or less decent I must admit I was a bit disappointed to find that the amount and level of the Mexican Linux distros is quite less which we can find in distros españolas (trisquel, etc.), Argentine (Tuquito, etc.) or even Venezuelan (Canaima, etc.).

Orvitus

Orvitux is a Mexican Linux distribution of the "rolling release" type, based on Unity Linux. It is designed for both personal and commercial use. It includes some modern features like a livecd, automatic hardware detection, wifi support, TrueType fonts, etc.

Being a rolling release, you don't have to wait 6 months to update; this distro keeps updating all the time.

I think it is necessary to mention Pepe Neif's first Mexican LinuxPPP distro late in the 90s.
I must clarify that this distribution does not exist anymore, but it is good to know the history.
This was the first Mexican distro to professionally print and label their records; Pepe personally sent the records in the middle of the evangelizing Linuxera era. (Get to buy 2 updates)
It was initiated as the official distro of Linux users in Mexico and the group that ferreos users of this distribution were aptly called CACLE (Circo Ambulante de Conferences Linuxeras de Evangelización) which was nothing more than a group of visionary volunteers who bet on this new operating system all of them hungry for knowledge ... I don't blame them, I was also in the same ones
I really congratulate all these Mexican pioneers who believed in Linux and "literally" evangelized universities and allowed to have a dramatic change in the way of looking at computing from personal to large mainframes.
Many of the brave people who have implemented Linux in their own businesses or developments were motivated by these first movements with Linux in Mexico.

    We bet and we win!

The publication was very good, I only knew about Jarro Negro and some others that are no longer online. I have also used Flujos Vivos, which is a distribution to make free online radio, which is Mexican.

    Dear Jesus:

It was not my intention to denigrate anyone's work. It just gave me that impression. Maybe I was wrong.

I congratulate you for the effort and commitment you have put into BeakOS!

I send you a big hug! Paul.

Hi, I'm Jesus Manuel Hernnadez, thank you for mentioning our orvitux project, I'm not going to break my clothes for your comment. «I must admit that I was a bit disappointed to discover that the number and level of Mexican Linux distros is much lower than what we can find in distros Spanish (Trisquel, etc.), Argentine (Tuquito, etc.) or even Venezuelan (Canaima, etc.). » I know that our project is new compared to the other distros, but we are gradually approaching the level of the others, we are not looking for a field of competition, because we know that each distro has its strengths and weaknesses (be it a metadistro, binary , created lfs..etc), as the author says in a phrase that I don't remember "I don't know how to outdo others, I only know how to outdo myself. That is Orvitux's work philosophy to seek our own path.

I have to mention in the case of us, no educational or governmental agency has any interference, all our resources are from the community

Thank you for giving us a place in space, also because we hope not to disappoint you in the future and as the jocker would say, put a smile on your face XD

PS: Never retract what you think, with your comments you do in my particular case, further improve the distribution.

How about I am a computer teacher in a high school in Chiapas, and also a programmer in the afternoon, I would like to tell you, Jesus Manuel, not without first congratulating you on your distro, that you can count on me to contribute to the development of your distro, I have a year as a graduate and I'm sure that many students from my university would be happy to contribute to your project, congratulations on this page.

    Many greetings Pablo

I am the Beakos GNU / Linux Development Coordinator.

I'm going to return a bit from this page:

«I must admit that I was a bit disappointed to discover that the number and level of Mexican Linux distros is much lower than what we can find in Spanish (Trisquel, etc.), Argentine (Tuquito, etc.) or even Venezuelan (Canaima, etc.) distros. etc.)."

I comment that in the particular case of Beakos GNU / Linux, unlike the other distros, it is a project promoted by the federal government, and a very large research center in Mexico. In addition to being a distribution based on LFS, the development that has been invested in it is greater than that of other distros based on some metadistro or distro such as debian, fedora, Slackware, etc.

In the particular case of Canaima, for example, they are a tropicalized debian distro, and recently we had an excellent participation in the CNSL of Venezuela, where there were even very good compliments towards Beakos.

I would ask you please, do not generalize the developments, even through social networks we have followers from your country, who have seen Beakos in a very good way.

    regards

    Jesus Arriola Villarreal

Hello everyone, if you have noticed our old address and orvitux domain stopped working, the reason was economic since the cost of bandwidth and other costs that the site implied was impossible to continue with it, so we opted for more accessible options in this case create a wix site with a uni.me domain to reduce costs somewhat, not all is bad news soon in a few days we will launch a new flavor of orvitux based on debian testing and with a lot of new things among them we can mention :
    liquorix kernel 3.9.8
chromium with pepper-flash pre-installed (google chrome)
    enabled apt-pinning
    apt-fast
    lightdm
    cinnamon 1.8.
    Synapse
And ppa manger… .. and much more

    WAIT FOR IT

we also invite you to enter our new website http://orvitux.uni.me/ that some parts this construction but soon it will be fully operational

Good day. I read your proposals. It turns out that I want to migrate to linux and I want to look for a friendly version. I would like one that is compatible with sight and have both in the PCE and let my family adjust. Could you inform me of places to look for a thousand thanks

    1.    let's use linux said

Hi Marco Antonio! Regarding the most friendly linux distributions, I would recommend linux mint or lubuntu. They are the ones that best combine the fact of being friendly for those who are just starting out and that have an interface similar to winxp.
In relation to your query on how to install linux with win, I recommend you read the following post and its related articles:

Greetings to all, very good contributions, but I feel that I also need to mention Aztli Linux, which is already in version 5, I met her about three years ago at one of the FLISOL conferences at BUAO here in Puebla, I have nothing What to do with the project or with the university, only that since I saw the distro well I observed that it had practically everything I needed without looking for it more, I leave the link of the description and the link of the page:
