OS (distros) most used by our readers

What is promised is debt, and fair yesterday when I left the statistics of the countries that more readers contributed, several of you asked the statistics of the OS (distros) that our visitors were using.

Well, here they are 😀

And here specifically those of Windows:

Well, as you can see, we have more readers who use Linux than they use Windows, the difference is not much but hey ... difference in the end 🙂

regards

And the worst thing is not only that they put it in another language, but that they misspelled it. Besides showing a silly attitude, they write nonsense.

I don't understand what is happening with the "user agent". The comment I just made was from my Ubuntu 10-04 netbook in the Midori browser, and I just realized that it appears as if it was made from Windows!

Now I am sending this message from Opera. I have never understood that "user agent".

Many, many people connect from work, with Windows.
And how few debianitas we are!
Everyone to use Debian, no Ubuntu 😉

    1.    Nonamed said

How lucky are some who have time to spare at work for those things xD

    2.    nerjamartin said

I myself lol from work I use Windows 7, I have no other choice! 🙂

I am on Debian but the user agent marks the little pen, the same thing happens with OpenSUSE, I suppose that the Debian detected is because the user modified them

    4.    alebils said

I use XP from my workplace, which is where I most consult the page.

    5.    taregon said

I would only use ubuntu (in rare cases whose number does not exceed 5 times) in case I do not have my linux mint at hand to repair / rescue a hard disk = O

    6.    Christopher said

We are more Debianites, the problem is that none of them change their useragent of those connected with iceweasel and only the penguin appears: S ...

      1.    Nonamed said

Anyway, iceweasel is only used by debian, you could modify the code to show the debian logo if iceweasel was detected

  3.   v3on said

something is clear, many of us use ubuntu, and many lazy people do not change the user-agent xD

      1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

If you configure your UserAgent, the Mint icon will appear in the comments 😀

        1.    diazepam said

Yes, I could put the Linux Mint one but I could also put the Debian one. It does not matter.

          1.    Manual of the Source said

The correct one would be Linux Mint.

    2.    Manual of the Source said

      Ahem. 😀

      +5; D agree with you, I don't change mu user ...

  4.   Manual of the Source said

These statistics already seem more accurate to me, not as in the results of the survey where it says we have more archers than users of any other distro (although it surprises me that now we are so low: S).

    1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

Also to keep in mind that not all change the UserAgent and specify the distro 😀

      1.    Manual of the Source said

But if there are even more Gentoo users, I've never seen anyone around here with the Gentoo icon. : S

    Interesting.
As it is a blog that hardly talks about Ubuntu, that there are almost 19% who come here using it is a fact to take into account. Will people be interested in seeing alternatives in other ditros?
The Windows thing is not surprising since in the world of work it is what there is.
In general, those listed as generic GNU / Linux should be those who, for example, downloaded Firefox, installed it manually and did not modify the User Agent. Which indicates that there are many handymen who come to this blog

  7.   Mauritius said

I find it strange that Arch is so low. That is not the most popular, okay, but so low ??? I join to think that it is for not changing the User Agent

  8.   Marco said

I find it even stranger that Chakra does not even appear between the distros !!!

    1.    truko22 said

@marco which user agnet do you use, I modify it and here it detects chakra correctly, but it gives me a problem with some google and hotmail services.

      1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

Put it on the UserAgent line "WebKit" ... that should solve the problem with Google+ for example.

You must tell the Chrome UserAgent that you use Debian:

You must declare in your Chrome UserAgent the distro you use:

I use Ubuntu, and I would like to try more distros, but it is that, although you may not believe it (and I really mean it) I have fallen in love with unity, and I miss it when I have tried other distros, such as Debian or Fedora, as well I always go back to Ubuntu a week after installing another distro.

The reasons why I like Unity are many, which I will comment in some other place, but the main ones are the Lenses and the use of the screen.

    1.    nxs.davis said

I share your opinion, my laptop has a 16: 9 screen and unity takes advantage of the screen quite well, I hope it could be installed in another distro ... I heard that in 64-bit arch it still can't, it hurts too bad, I'll continue with unity 😀

  16.   ianpocks said

I have realized that with firefox you do not have to configure the user agent, but with midori it is not properly configured, and that I use the same distro

And even more when we work at night, luckily we always have pages like these to sweeten the night, oh my God if they are long (more than the legs of a Norwegian) 😉

What a joy to see Trisquel get noticed, you can see that there are many of us, how should I refer to Trisquel users? Maybe Trisquelites? Hopefully we continue to be more users of 100% free software 😉

    Greetings.

    1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

      Or Triskelians ... HAHA

    2.    snd6e said

How do you know who uses Trisquel? When updating Abrowser it says 'Ubuntu' and if you change it to 'Trisquel' a Tux continues to appear.

      1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

I think Trisquel is not supported in the comments ... that is, the code that shows you the distro in the comments does not recognize Trisquel.

If someone sends me the Trisquel logo (.SVG) to my email, or leaves me a download link, I add support for Trisquel as I have done with Pardus, Mageia, Chakra, etc 🙂

It does not seem to me that justice is done to linux mint, since in the browsers they appear as ubuntu and many users who are new, do not know or have modified the user agent. Greetings anyway Good for Gnu / Linux. Greetings.

    1.    Manual of the Source said

It is the bad thing that each distro puts the user agent he wants, but if the user does not take care to correct it, there is nothing that can be done.
