Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS RC images are now available for public testing

Canonical announced yesterday that the Release Candidate images for the upcoming Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS update are now available for public testing.

Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS is the first maintenance update for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Bionic Beaver, intended to be released tomorrow, and Canonical wants the community to help test the images before they hit the public domain on various official distributions.

«These images are not final, but please give them a try and don't wait until the final version to start your tests. We need you to try them right now so that the errors you find are fixed«, Jean-Baptiste Lallement mentions on the mailing list.

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Bionic Beaver is a version with long-term support, this means that Canonical will launch five maintenance updates with updated components and the latest in security. Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS is the first update and promises to make this version more secure and stable.
