[TIP] Activate click with the touchpad in Openbox

elav published a article about touchpad problems in Debian. Well, it turns out that it works well for me as standard, the only thing is that the click is not active and in open box there is no wizard to configure it (that i know of).

Just edit the autostart and add the following line:

synclient TapButton1=1 &

I used the autostart file but I guess it can work with .xinitrc and others.

And that's it 😛 just restart the session and see if it works on our hardware.

Thanks a few days ago I was with that error and I had already solved it that way, but it is a good contribution for those who venture from now on

I also add this to activate vertical scrolling, if the touchpad supports it, of course:

    synclient VertEdgeScroll = 1

It works for me but not when I restart if not once, butoooo, once I restart I have to do it again to make it work. I don't know if I do something wrong but I don't think it works as long as I don't restart.

I think with a script I can make it permanent

one thing out of curiosity I did the following:
    I wrote in terminal:
    synclient TapButton2 = 2 &

and now I can drag and drop.
