Playing guitar with Frets on Fire

I'm not one of those who gamble a lot, and when I do, the titles that I could mention to you might be boring, but I must confess that Frets on Fire got me hooked

This game has been the alternative to the popular Guitar Hero, is multiplatform and has the following characteristics (taken from Wikipedia):

• 4 Difficulty levels (super easy, Easy, Medium y Amazing).
• A tutorial, that as a teacher, we have a guy who shows off his skills in the game: Jurgen Guntherswarchzhaffenstrassen.
• A song editor.
• Career mode.
• Multiplayer mode.
• 3 songs, plus the possibility of downloading other songs made by others and / or making your own songs.
• Support for joystick, allowing you to use a guitar of Guitar Hero with adapter PS2/USB and also with a controller bluetooth the Wii guitar controller can be used, although several programs and a special script must be used.¹
• Possibility of "importing" songs from Guitar Hero if you have a DVD player and 500 MB of disk space.

You can also add many songs from various games and well-known bands to our pc, these unofficial songs are known as custom songs and their variety and quantity are so great that we can find several songs from almost all famous bands and artists.

You can create folders and place the Guitar Hero songs and modify them:

• To assign an image or color to the cassette:

Inside the folder where we have our song with its respective files (guitar.ogg, note.mid, sog.ogg) there is a file called «song.ini»If we open it we can configure the name of the song with author and color of the cassette, example:

If you want to place an image on the cassette, in the folder where the song is, the same from point one. We create a .PNG image with the measurements 256 × 128 we place what we want and record in the specified place with the name "Label.png"

You can also add colors to the briefcase and an image "Library.ini" in the folder where you host the music group and "Label.png" to attach image to briefcase.

I have been looking for places to download songs, mods and others and the one that is most nurtured is this, but for some reason I can't download anything, since you have to be registered at www.fretsonfire.net/forums/ and I don't have access. If anyone knows of any other resource let me know.

This game is available in the repositories of most distributions although we can download it from their site at Sourceforge.
