Top New Distros 2025 – 05: Helwan Linux + iDeal OS
Today, May 13, 2025, as has become customary month after month, we offer you a new publication in our current series of publications called “Top New GNU/Linux Distros”, which corresponds to the fifth publication (part 05) of this current year. And in it, we'll cover two more new, interesting, and little-known alternatives to free and open distributions (operating systems) within the vast Linuxverse. One that only appeared in the well-known Linux platform in April. DistroWatch waitlist, and another one already registered on DistroWatch, but still little known by many, despite being a brilliant "Respin" project based on the popular "MX Linux" distro. The names of these two projects are as follows: “Helwan Linux” + “iDeal OS”.
Let us remember that many of the *Linux, *BSD Distros and other independent ones, addressed in this series of publications, They await their fair recognition within the DistroWatch website, to then be disseminated as modern, complete, stable, and successful projects within the same. As of today, when we write this publication (13/05/2025), it is important to highlight that, The only additional distributions that we have been able to find, inside and outside the known Linuxverse so far (mainly on the DistroWatch OS.Watch and FossTorrents websites) are "Twister OS y Calyx OS", which we will address next month.
