I am in Colombia, and I am a user and disseminator of Free Software and GNU / Linux.
I am pleased to see that we are in a good place above some great ones.
Cuba has understood it, well for the Cubans !!

Greetings, Mephisto Feles. And thanks for your comment! And certainly Cuba, due to its long geopolitical situation, has had to work hard with respect to the use of Free, open and free Software.

Among the political changes that have occurred in Cuba recently, there are also those related to new technologies that have long been bet on them, creating at the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) its own Operating System based on Ubuntu that is financed by the government, for the change of platform in state entities *: the Nova Desk. Although at the beginning it left much to be desired, the current version (Nova 6.0) is quite good; But as always, we computer scientists "collide" with the opinion of bureaucrats who believe they are experts in Computer Science (and in any other matter to be discussed) and who put a thousand and one justifications to stop the migration process. The new law gives a period of 3 years (2019-2022) for ALL companies in the country to have migrated to free software and open source platforms ... and that is the reason that although there has always been interest in GNU / Linux, it has grown exponentially this year.

    * The clarification is because more than one thought that the migration due to unfounded rumors that it would also be for natural persons, which is absurd since no one can come to say what you can have or not have on your particular computer. By the way, mine used Kubuntu 18.04

In the clarification I wrote "that also" when I should only say "also".
