For those who want to test the new alpha version of Ubuntu Maverick 10.10, it is now available for download. |
What's new under the sun…
- Gnome 2.31 y Kernel 2.6.35-14.19
- Ubuntu Software Center:
- Appearance improvements continued.
- Adding a history to know when we have installed certain applications or when they have been updated.
- Division of applications into categories and subcategories.
- Possibility of sharing applications through social networks supported by Gwibber.
- It continues its integration with Ubuntu One Music Store. Now it is possible, in the purest Spotify or Grooveshark style, to share our music with friends using social networks or offering a direct link for playback.
- Redesign, allowing control of the volume of each application.
- Greater integration with applications that play music, especially Rhythmbox.
To see more information regarding the possible new features I suggest you read this Previous post.
In short, it continues in the same vein as Ubuntu 10.04: increasingly complete integration with cloud services and social networks.
The beta version is planned for September 2.

Remember that it is a development version and, therefore, unstable. For that reason, it is not recommended to install it on stable systems.
