Ubuntu 13.04 will be called Raring Ringtail

It was the turn of the «r» and in the end they were left with “Rare Ringtail”As a pseudonym for Ubuntu 13.04, although others such as Runty Raccoon, Rufflered Rhino or Randall Ross were being considered.

For the curious, it should be noted that Ringtail (or «Ringtail cat») is an animal of the raccoon family known as «ring-tailed cat».

According to Mark shuttleworth, owner of Canonical, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail will be focused on mobile devices, improving battery life, memory management and running processes.

There are two short release cycles to go before we hit the LTS (Long Term Release), and by then we want to have the phone, tablet and TV all lined up. So I think it's time to look at Ubuntu's kernel and review it through a 'mobile' lens - we're going to measure our main platform by 'mobile' metrics, things like battery life, the number of running processes , the trace of memory, and polish the rough edges that we find. When we do that, the stronger the core of the system, the better performance on laptops and the cloud.

"Randall Ross" was not shuffled. That was a joke from an Ubuntu Member named Randall Ross.

I know, I put it in a joking tone.
I would have liked "Rocky Racoon", as in the Beatles song. Cheers! Paul.
