Canonical has shared with us a new infographic that shows how the operating system Ubuntu is used around the world by developers and various companies reputable who offer their services to consumers.
Over two years ago, when Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Xenial Xerus hit the market, Canonical released an infographic showing how many people were using this version and on what device. With Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Bionic Beaver that arrived this year, today the company launches the infographic that shows the world that Ubuntu and Linux are everywhere.

Ubuntu connects everything
The infographic shows that Ubuntu connects everything. From renowned companies such as Netflix, PayPal, eBay, Spotify and Sky, who use Ubuntu in their global operations, to government agencies such as the European Space Agency. Ubuntu is used in the midst of that, including autonomous cars, blockchain, and all kinds of robotics.
The infographic also shows that Ubuntu is very popular in the private and public cloud, as well as services like AWS and Google Cloud. On the other hand, it is used in artificial intelligence, from development to production.
In terms of numbers, Ubuntu is used by a community of developers that is larger than the population of Estonia, Iceland, Fiji, Isle of Man, and Brunei. In addition, 40% of Linux users have chosen Ubuntu for Internet of Things projects and it is also used by manufacturers such as IBM, Intel, Nvidia, Dell, Qualcomm, ARM and Raspberry Pi.
