Ubuntu TV will have integration with Ubuntu Phone

Do you remember the project Ubuntu tv? That bold initiative from Canonical to bring Ubuntu to our livings? After a few functional trials and a long "hiatus" moment with no news, this project rises from the ashes like the phoenix ... including a PPA.

Ubuntu TV has received new transition effects, changes to the Dash and integration with online services. This allows the same integration that they promise between the Ubuntu Phone and the PC, now also on TV.

In other words, this means that the project is alive, its development team is actively working on it, and they have even launched a public call to test the system. This means that those who want to try it will be able to do it without problems through the PPA that has been made available.

To install the Ubuntu TV PPA (only available for Ubuntu 12.04), open a terminal and run:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: u2t / bleedingedge && sudo apt-get update -y

This is what Unity 2D looks like with this new version:

But the news does not end there. According to Joseph Mills, Ubuntu TV developer, the staff in this department are focusing on the development of Ubuntu Phone OS as the TV will run using the same platform (QT / QML) and therefore the idea is that by placing the device in a dock connected to a television, Ubuntu TV can be used without problems.
