Waiting patiently for Enlightenment 18 (or 19), and while reading # 2 of The Original Hacker

This post I should have written a week ago but I still did not feel convinced. E18 has not yet come out but what is certain is that a week ago what came out was version 1.8 of the EFL libraries and a few days ago version 0.4 of terminology.

On the one hand EFL 1.8: They decided to unite all the libraries in a single package, in addition to adding a library for physical engine support, another library for audio support, it will be possible to generate thumbnails for Libreoffice documents, the elementary theme has been tweaked and there is support for Wayland 1.3.

Regarding Terminology, already have support for 256 colors, backscroll compression, improvements and fixed bugs. Here is a sample that they left.

terminology

For an environment that took 12 years to release version 17 to have new libraries in 12 months is a lot of progress. And if that was not enough, it is expected that for February 2014 EFL version 1.9 is released.

As well Issue 2 of Original Hacker came out, the Magazine of Eugenia Bahit with these topics:

Reverse Engineering: Developing Software Applying Reverse Engineering: The Art of Science
Python Scripting: Manipulating Configuration Files Using Configparser
Software Engineering: Adding Cron Files And Periodic Execution Of Processes In .Deb Packages
Europio Engine Lab: How The Original Hacker Library Web ABMs Made?
Computer Security: Smart Security Layers In PHP - Sanitation Of The Super Global Array $ _POST

Full support for Wayland is also expected in the E19 version and in the E18 version there partial support

Well, seeing how the final version of E17 came out, it seems to me that we still should have expected a little more. I have seen it quite green yet. The file manager is still a toy, the icons
On the grid they cannot move, it still suffers from some instability, etc.

Now, he's fast, cute, and light just like him, but he lacks a certain maturity.
