We have problems with DNS in the past days

As you could see, the past few days the blog (as well as our other services) were offline, here I will explain the reason.

It happens that as some know, before we are hosted on servers of GNUTransfer we were at Hostgator, but even when we left Hostgator hosting, the DNS (subdomains, etc) were managed by Hostgator. Last week we received an email from Hostgator announcing that we had to pay again (approximately $ 120) for another year using their hosting, as obviously we do not need to use their hosting (since we are doing great with GNUTransfer) we simply decided to ignore to that email.

What do this means?

It means that we were going to lose Hostgator hosting, which we couldn't care less about… BUT! It happens that our subdomains would also stop working. That is, when a user puts his blog in the browser.desdelinux.net, your browser asks Hostgator (which is where we have the domain) on which server, what is the IP of the server where the blog site is located.desdelinux.net, then Hostgator sends this information to the browser and that's it, the user accesses it, the same happens with the forum and all the other services we have (paste, mail, etc.). Well, all this would stop working because Hostgator wanted us to pay again.

We were forced to look for an alternative, that's where we remember that long ago NameCheap it seemed like a good option.

So, firstly, I day to the task of resuming my account in NameCheap, create the subdomains and everything necessary for FromLinux to work, and then, in the panel of our domain indicate that when a user wishes to enter one of our subdomains (forum, blog, etc), instead of asking Hostgator's DNS (which would no longer be available to us), it should ask NameCheap's DNS.

These changes take several hours to be effective, it depends mostly on the DNS of the ISP of each one of you, that is why in certain periods of time our services were offline for some of you.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, each change we make is always thinking about the well-being of the community and the satisfaction of users.
