From my point of view: What does it really contribute? DesdeLinux to the global community?

Just yesterday I was chatting with a somewhat popular character for those who have been reading us for a while: Courage

It happens that between one thing and another, I began to explain to him from my point of view, about what I think he contributes DesdeLinux to the network, to the global community.

Content:

We are one of the few sites that publishes articles aimed at newbies, complete newbies and curious, we also publish for average users, as well as for advanced users, we also have many articles for network administrators and programmers. But not only this, they have also been able to appreciate that quite a few opinion articles are published, which invite reflection, as well as articles that compare applications, distros, etc.

So it can be said that: DesdeLinux publishes for almost all audiences, whether novice, average user, advanced user, network administrator or programmer, whether technical articles, tutorials, manuals or not.

Plus, we always have our little bit of news. Personally I think that there are too many sites that publish news and news on our network, but… let's talk with names 🙂

If you want to read news, Very linux is a site that always publishes the latest news, of course one must always draw their own conclusions and be impartial, in this way the personal taste of the editor (which will always be present in the post, and not only in MuyLinux but in all sites) will not be able to influence us.

If you want to see a balance between tutorials or mention of applications, and news, Let's use Linux it is undoubtedly a good option. In fact the 3 posts about Bash that they recently made, to elav loved them 🙂

And I have only mentioned two sites, without a doubt there are many more that publish news ... and, generally, it is always the same news in almost all sites ... news that may well come out of OMG! Free!, WebUpd8, Mark Shuttleworth's blog, somewhere in English, etc. So ... I really don't find much sense in being another site that only puts news, I prefer that we give priority to tutorials, manuals, yes ... well more sites are needed to publish not so much the same news, and yes interesting tutorials, tools.

Community:

I also commented to Courage, that we are no longer that site with a small community like 10 months ago, that fortunately we already have many more users who read us, users who also take the trouble to leave a comment to contribute, expose their point of view and experience Yes, to contribute and enrich the site with better content, with a really productive and interesting debate.

We have an Forum in which everyone can expose their problem, explain the error that X application shows them ... a forum where everyone, in a completely disinterested way, will help, where all of us who know something that can help the user who has that problem will contribute our bit to solve that problem.

Not to mention al IRC, that although it is not the most active thing in the world, there are always good times 🙂

In addition, it is not that we are pioneers, much less in this that I will mention, but many times this helps us to solve X situation - » Twitter

En our Twitter account (@desdelinux) Any user who asks us something, if we know the answer that will solve your problem, we will be happy to help you, we give you the link that would solve the problem ... and, if we do not know it, we will RT your question to more than a thousand followers we have, that way more than 1300 people will read your question ... and friends, I assure you that someone will answer and help solve the problem 😉

This is without a doubt the strong point currently, you... the great and wonderful community that has been formed in this small space that is still DesdeLinux : )

We can be a speaker for you:

One of the aspects that Courage criticism, is the fact that everyone can write in DesdeLinux, I partly understand him, but partly I think he is wrong.

To explain this, we must first know: What is DesdeLinux?

DesdeLinux (aka: <° Linux) aims to be a site where knowledge, news, information of any kind that may be of interest to the global community can be shared. Above all, it is a space to share experiences related to this wonderful world of Free Software or OpenSource.

Having explained this, what is the point of us being a space to share experiences, if only a few share their experiences or knowledge? At the beginning of the blog we (elav and me) that we founded it, we offered the possibility of being a writer to users who we thought had qualities for it, even though in reality we never limited access to writing articles ... any user who registered could share their knowledge, but we were aware that This possibility is something little seen on the Internet, that is why we offered certain users that possibility to collaborate with the site and the community. That is how we have excellent articles authored by Tina Toledo, our friend Icarus Perseus, dwarf who is also an administrator here, Manuel that although sporadically gives us good posts, and a VERY long etc.

However, throughout all this time there are many, many more users who have written here, contributed tutorials, stories, etc., they only registered on the site (nick, email, password and password of your bank account ... HAHAHA !!! LOL!!) and nothing more.

How many of these posts would have been lost, wouldn't they exist if we hadn't made the decision to be open to everyone from the start?

To finish…

I will not tell the result of the conversation, it is irrelevant. I will just say that my arguments were not enough LOL !.

We hope to be to your liking, we still have a lot to improve because we only have a year and a half to live ... but, precisely because of that, we still have a lot to grow 🙂

Always all constructive criticism, complaints, doubts, ideas or suggestions… all are welcome, and I promise that all will always be taken into account.

By the way, if you want to give a vote for this site in the contest Blogs 2012, we would be very grateful 😀

Vote for this site in the category of technological blog y computer security blog, you will really help us a lot 🙂

Thank you very much for having read this far, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm not very into articles like this, I like more to write technical posts, manuals, tutorials or tips ... but I felt that I should write this 🙂

From my point of view, DesdeLinux It contributes a lot to the community, and I have to admit that you, thanks to your effort and work, cleared up many of my doubts that I had about Linux and OpenSource.

I hope they continue to grow and obviously, I will do my bit to make this site the best of all.

Since I discovered this site thanks to elav, since at that time I followed his blog when he was a Debian user, it always gave me the impression that the blog wanted to be different both in content and in the way of making the articles and that is how .
For my part I congratulate you with all my heart, and I hope later also to contribute to the community by sharing articles.
Keep up this great work because desdelinux It is a blog made by users for users and the best thing where we can all participate.

My dear Elav and KZKG ^ Gaara.

Although I like to write, I have never been very fond of doing it outside of certain spaces, but since I discovered this site I decided to break that personal paradigm and participate in my walks and share them with all of you. The history of information technology and the open environment movement is rich and varied.

Thanks to you and the entire community for accepting me in this space and allowing me to be part of this rich and varied community.

Thanks to you for wanting to be part of this space. We appreciate your presence and that of all those users who pass and leave us their comments, articles, opinions ... anyway ... Thank you

Hello, this is the first time I've commented here, I don't know why I haven't done it before. It's been 6 months since I started using Linux, and the truth is that I feel very comfortable, but part of the blame (in addition to my own curiosity) lies with you, for me having switched to Linux. And this was one of the first, if not the first place I went to to find out "what's up with GNU/Linux." Today I am a Linux fan to death, I love it, I feel comfortable, it changes my way of seeing things in short. Obviously I read every day. DesdeLinux, and although there are still many things that I still don't know about this Linux world, thanks to you I am learning. Greetings from Uruguay and thank you very much for all your contributions

I agree with what Gaara stated, and I think that the fact that they allow and encourage readers to generate content is one of the keys to understanding why DesdeLinux It is today one of the most popular (if not the most popular) Linux and Free Software sites in Spanish, and at the same time a great community that I am proud to be part of. Greetings from Argentina!!

    1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

      Thanks! 😀
In reality, it is not that we seek to be the most popular or not, we simply want to reach as many audiences as possible, because we believe that our posts may be of use or interest to several 🙂

      Greetings compa! 😀

For my part I can say that I have been following them for several months now, and although I do not leave many comments in the post, I read each one of them. They got to the point of becoming one of the main pages that I visit daily, to the point that I open the browser and it is one of the tabs that appear first 😀
I like the work they do, not only because of the large amount of information they publish, but also because of the community that surrounds them, where I honestly feel very comfortable.
I hope they continue to improve day by day.
    Greetings guys 😀

Yes, there are several (quite a few) users that I know read us but do not comment, it does not matter yet they are part of the community, we write for everyone and we feed on everyone 😀

One of the things (call it dreams if you want) that I always had at the beginning of the site was one day to achieve a community, one in which everyone, regardless of whether you use Ubuntu or Gentoo, everyone feels comfortable, where everyone feels part of the same (they are!), part of GNU / Linux 🙂

I am also very happy that they have given me the opportunity to publish some of my posts on this site, although at first I was active on the IRC channel, after a while I forgot, there are actually no people connected or the one that is just like listen, the IRC one day elav told me the story of why the sign of DesdeLinux.

I would like to propose that we do a project between us so that <° DesdeLinux be something more than a website, such as webupd8 that has ppa's projects, etc., I think it would help us as a community to work as a team and if it is something very important it could appear on our CVs.

Several <° articles have served me well and I hope it will continue for many more years and that those who publish will not get bored, because in this daily blog there is something new to read.

    1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

Taste is all our friend 🙂
All users always have something interesting to contribute, they just have to be motivated and do it 😀

About PPA's and others, at least I'm not a programmer hahahaha, I like the idea a lot, but I feel like I can't contribute much programming LOL!

Well, I have found in DesdeLinux, a space to share information, a space where, with respect, I have obtained valuable information about my distro and about the Linux world. In short, it soon became the best blog I have ever read in my life, and my first option to recommend and read every day. My hobby has reached such a point that when I see a day go by without a new publication, I don't know what to do. hahaha

  16.   elendilnarsil said

Besides, I feel that this space has become a great family !!!

Something that I also appreciate, and that I have commented on other occasions, is that trolls still do not appear here.

  18.   seachello said

I personally like the heterogeneity of articles. I love it indeed. And I think one of the best "compliments" that I can give to the blog is that many times the comments are as interesting as the post itself (obviously above all, but not only, in opinion articles). It is one of the reflections of a good community.

Greetings from Barcelona (so you know, they read them on at least two continents !!)

    1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

      Thank you
Yes haha, it happens that the post is written by a single user, but then a lot more users comment.
I myself have learned several new tips thanks to comments that users have left in my posts, that's the great thing about the community, collective knowledge haha.

I don't agree with your last sentence KZKG^Gaara when you say: "I'll just say that my arguments were not enough." It leaves a feeling of defeat against Courage.DesdeLinux It does not need any person to defend it, it defends itself. Courage is Ancient History.

I can only say: THANK YOU DesdeLinux! I remember that I met DesdeLinux Thanks to looking for tips for LMDE, if I remember correctly it was an Elav blog in which it was mentioned. Well, from that moment on, it has become extremely important for me to learn new things, opinions and so on. I especially thank KZKG^Gaara and Elav, the truth is that without their articles I would have been lost many times. Thanks to everyone in the same way. Thanks to everyone who is part of it because you also learn a lot from the responses to the articles.

I have read this website since before it had the design it currently has. I enter it every day and from it I have learned many things, almost more than in the race. This led me to want to contribute something and I am currently improving my website, in the absence of buying a better domain than the one I have to have it ready and give back to the community what the community has given me.

People like you make Linux great. Thank you for your dedication.

    1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

Uff yes, it seems to me that we changed the design for years ... when in fact it was 1 month ago or maybe 2 months HAHAHA.

DesdeLinux It contributes a lot to the Linuxera community in Spanish. There are few websites as active and with such interesting articles.

Since you name MuyLinux, Let's UseLinux ... it would not be bad to write a post with the reference websites of the Linux and Open Source world, to expand our knowledge and be able to contribute something more to this community. I leave it there…

    1.    KZKG ^ Gaara said

      Hello
Actually I am not the best suited to talk about reference sites at the moment, I don't usually read many sites in the world that are in Spanish, almost all my RSS or are generic by tags (that is, posts related to bash, regardless of origin ) or just Planets of distros, or blogs in English or something like that.

I know MuyLinux because a looooong time ago I was a follower of them, and let's use Linux is a separate place, different, it deserves all the respect in the world 😀

«DesdeLinux» is one of the best places, in Spanish, to learn and discover the possibilities of this magnificent operating system and its applications.
The contributions (very good) are made understandable even for new users, the readings are entertaining and without apparent security (unlike in other places).

    Congratulations and best regards.
