After install XBMC in the Raspberry Pi in my previous entry, now I am going to explain how to manage it. There are two ways:
The first and simplest is to control it with the television remote, for this your television has to support HDMI-CEC. The second is to use applications that manage our XBMC. I will explain how to configure XBMC remote for Android.
Configuration
We are going to enable the management of XBMC, for this we have to go to "desk" de XBMC and move to System >> Settings >> Services >> Web server. Now you have to indicate a username and password for the web server, in my case I have chosen:
- User: xbmc
- Password: xbmc
We are done with the part of XBMC. Now we install the application XBMC remote on our Android and run it. The first time we will see this:
We go to Settings and close the notice that indicates that there is no host. We appear on a black screen where we have to add a host pressing the menu key of our Android.
We will get a screen where we have to complete the data:
- Name of this instance: Raspberry # Here you can put the name you want
- Host or IP address: 192.168.1.200 # Here we indicate the IP of our XBMC
- Username: xbmc # Here we put the username we chose before
- Password: xbmc # Here we put the password that we chose before
Once we have finished adding our host we can now manage our XBMC from our Android.
On my mobile there are several controls on the XBMC remote that do not appear because they are small. On a mobile with a larger screen or on a tablet it will look much better. I hope you find it useful.

Hello this tutorial is very good.
I have a Media Center with XBMC with Gentoo Linux.
The system is very good and I like what I read, only that there is another option as a remote control.
This I think is the official application, but I also exuste Yatse and it is more complete than the official version, let's say that this application is remote and the other one would be a smart remote.
Greetings.
I've been using it for a long time and it's fantastic. You can see series banners from mobile / tablet, movie posters, synopsis, etc. It is not just a conventional remote control. You could include captures of this type in the post Atr0m, surely that more than one enters through the eyes, hahahaha.
I only use it as a remote control, I have not needed more. Anyway, the post is more oriented to the installation and configuration than it has to comment on the XBMC remote application. Thanks for comment!!
Very good, but a question, is it necessary to put the IP? I tell you this because on my network I use DHCP and I refuse to use static IPs.
I have XBMC installed on phones, tablets, PCs… ..
I see you don't have for MAC addresses.
there is a better program, called yatse, it even has more stars than the official one in the playstore, and it detects your device automatically
Hey.
Have you tried Yatse? After trying several "remotes" I stayed with Yatse.
A greeting.
I also used yatse a year ago and it is the best. I also pay for the premium version and I can send files from the phone. Is very complete. I would like to know if with Yatse you can also control an android penstick? Type mk809
