Xfce needs help on some worksets

Jannis Pohlman, one of the leading developers of Xfce, has written an article in the official blog where he explains that due to lack of time he cannot dedicate himself to some projects that are part of the Desktop Environment.

That is why it needs the help of anyone who is interested in maintaining or collaborating with the following projects:

this way it would be easier for him to focus on some packages of the Xfce Core (Thunar, Garcon, Tumbler...etc). If you are interested in maintaining any of these packages, please let us know in a comment or send an email to xfce4-dev@xfce.org.

As Jannis, it is advisable to have knowledge of C, GLib and GTK + for the elements of Xfce and VIMScript for jptemplate. However, for particular panel plugins whose code base should be easy to understand even for a newbie to GTK, you just have to be willing to read some manuals of API.

If I knew how to program, I would resurrect the xfburn project (xfce disk burner) to run on the same level as brazier or k3b. Also I would pay close attention to improving thunar's file management, for example, with better options for handling file permissions like gnome and kde have. And of course, it would be a joy if the thunar-media-tags plugin could allow the id3 music tag editing of multiple audio files at once. Who could… no?
