XnRetro: Style your photos like Instagram

About Instagram

We live in the age of social networks, and there are of all types and with different objectives. Instagram came out ahead because it offered something that the rest did not, you could simply apply beautiful effects to your photos and share them with your friends or family.

The problem with InstagramIt is the same as with the rest of the social networks: many users are suspicious when it comes to sharing information, especially visual information, and that is why there are millions of people who pass by these types of sites.

If we want nice effects for our photos, we can always use editing tools like GIMP as we show in this tutorial on vintage effectsHowever, in these times where we want everything to be quick and easy, it is better to use applications like the ones I present below.

What is XnRetro?

XnRetro is a tool that allows us, easily and very quickly, to add some effects to our photos or to play with the Exposure, Gamma, Brightness, Contrast, Opacity, etc ... of the image colors. Of course, we can do this manually or simply use the predefined filters that the application contains.

XnRetro

Use of El XnRetro It is quite basic, we import a photograph and we simply select a filter from those that are available. In addition to the color filters, XnRetro allows us to add frames to the photos, or effects for the internal borders to the purest Instagram.

How to install XnRetro

XnRetro is available for ArchLinux from AUR, so to install it we just have to execute:

$ yaourt -S xnretro

If it is not available in your favorite distribution there is no problem, on the official XnRetro site we find the necessary file To install the application, that is, it is only available in 32 bits, so we have to use multi-architecture in some distributions. XnRetro is also available for Android, iOS, Windows, and OS X.

    As if that were not enough, the utility provided by the application (which I will try when I leave work) is adorned with a photo of a cute puppy ... thank you very much.

    Greetings Elav:
    Your article is very "nutritious", I hope you can also install XnView from the terminal in Ubuntu or SuSe.
    It is one of the few win2 applications that I like besides the old Jasc Paint Shop Pro (now from corel)
