Good afternoon. I have an ubuntu 17 and it won't let me upgrade to 18, I'm afraid it's due to lack of machine capacity. I just give it update, and when the option to update ubuntu comes out, it just doesn't respond at all. Reading on the net, it seems that xubuntu supports more modest machines, and maybe that is a solution. However, I don't really understand how xubuntu would be installed, instead of ubuntu .. How do I find which drive the USB was mounted on?

Hello, I would like to know if I can recover the username and password of my old PC (2006), which was saved without use and I want to recover files that I have saved, so long I forgot the username and password, I cannot open the PC.
is there any method to solve this?
    Thank you

You can mount the hard drive on another linux PC and copy everything to your internal drive (if it is not encrypted)

It works pretty regular. There are things that I still don't know, but office works and in chemistry we say that if one thing works, it is going well.
