Many of us have become very essential to connect to social networks, this is not a problem if we can do it from our «Tux staff»(Personal equipment for the friends: P. That sounded like a Depeche Mode XD song), but what if we find ourselves in need of having to use an« alien »equipment, which has Windows by de facto? Downloading and installing a client is not a viable solution, for obvious reasons, and reading or writing from the web page is not very comfortable. Let's say, what can we do then? Easy, download Hotot for Windows and put it on our pendrive :), the best of all is that you do not need to install it on the computer since it is portable: D.
For those who do not know, Hotot is a cross-platform microbloggin OpenSource client for Twitter e Identi.ca (In GNU / Linux it appears in the software center of most distributions). The most recent version of this application for Windows is 0.9.8.4, which has fixed many bugs. Some features it has are:
- Supports extensions.
- Image and video preview.
- Image integration service.
- Supports themes (themes).
- Threading in conversations.
- Geographic information view.
- Kismet Firewall.
- Notification system
- Multi-column views.
- Updates in real time.
As you will see, these characteristics are not negligible;). Here are some images:

Great, can the top bar be grayed out to fit KDE Zorin or Linux mint 13?
In fact, the Hotot bar you mention adapts to the theme of your desktop;).

What a gem of a customer. Beautiful! He has convinced me to change choqok to Hotot. ; D
I'm a little tempted ... but I still resist haha
And me missing a choqok for Gnome TT, WTH understand us? XD
Since it came out, it has been my favorite twitter client, it's great. A query, how did you go about putting up that splash screen? Or is it an option only for the windows version?
It only appears in the windows version :-(.
Cannot change direct .PNG in / usr / share /…. ?
Mmm ... interesting, it would be a matter of investigating and testing 🙂
If it is an image file… I assure you that it will be in / usr / share /… and it can be changed manually 😉
I tried, in usr / share / hotot / image there is a very suggestive file called welcome_bg.png. I changed it and restarted hotot, but nothing happened. Anyway, keep looking.
I hadn't worried about this before, but as I saw the catch, my curiosity was piqued. It's the fun of Linux, it's so modifiable that it makes you want to tweak everything.
Perseus I think he already managed to do it, he is making a post about this 🙂
@Mauricio I already have a post prepared about it, I'll put it online tomorrow ;-).
