ZukiTwo + Bluebird = ZukiBird

Bluebird is for me, the best theme that exists for Xfce currently (although it also looks pretty in Gnome) but like everything, nothing is perfect.

I don't like how the elements are displayed in the panel with Bluebird, so I took that part of zukitwo and I joined them. I baptized my father as Zukibird. Here is the result:

You can download it from xfce-look. The theme includes inside a folder with 3 images (with transparency effect) for the top or bottom panel. It's compatible with gtk2, gtk3 and includes your own theme for metacity y xfwm.

Hey man could you teach how you modify the themes

  3.   tarantonium said

Well, you can't ask for more. Excellent contribution. This tips the scales a bit for the xfce side. I'm waiting for elementary Luna to come out to see if I stay in gnome or I definitely switch to xfce.

My last experience with xubuntu and fiddling around a bit has been very satisfying. Maybe xfce is missing a "nice" elementary-type distro for many to decide to make the leap.

Although I adjust it my way later, I am very attracted to a distribution that looks neat from the beginning, with a well chosen theme and everything well integrated, fonts, wallpaper, login screen ...

Why not a distribution «desdelinux» based on xfce, based on debian or arch, and tuned with style?

  4.   Hache said

xD how you love to modify the themes! Say yes, it was very attractive, it is a great mix.
Let's see if I dare to upload my openbox and gtk2 themes one day ...

I am seriously thinking of giving XFCE a chance, because although today it consumes a little more resources, I feel in it greater agility when opening applications, which I do not feel in Gnome or KDE, which although very complete have already been become heavy for my liking. Exquisite work Elav if I make the change you are the main culprit. LOL

      xD

Why does everyone insist on blaming me every time they think of using Xfce? I have not done anything .. I simply show how cool, simple, beautiful and fast it is 😛

      1.    Titan said

For that very reason. Because not many blogs talk about XFCE and those who touch them do not emphasize much on customization, that's what I like about this one that there are articles for all tastes.

I don't blame you for switching to XFCE after reading your many interesting articles, on the contrary, I must thank you, you are a very good promoter.
Congratulations on the theme, I installed it and it looks great.

Use XFCE without fear. You will like it if what you are looking for is speed.
I used to use Gnome before, but before the simultaneous attack of Unity and Gnome 3 I went to XFCE and I do not regret it at all.

Is Thunar a good file manager? I know it has no tabs, are there other alternatives to Thunar in XFCE?

    1.    Hache said

For the tabs thing, I use Pcmanfm. I have used it with Openbox and with Xfce. I don't think it gives you any problem, it's very well done 😉

      1.    Hugo said

By the way, those of you who use PCManFM or LXDE in general, could you please report any errors or inconsistencies you find in the Spanish translation?
Although I am currently the coordinator of the Spanish translation team, I haven't had much time to test everything.

        1.    Hache said

          That is done!

    2.    giskard said

It is very good and super fast. The only bad thing is the tabs, but hey, one adapts ... until (perhaps) one day they put them on 🙂

Thanks for sharing quality work like this, I'll use it soon. Greetings and we read 😉

I congratulate you on making this excellent and beautiful theme for XFCE. The pity is that, I do not know why, but neither the separators nor the session manager in Xubuntu show well when applying the transparency with the photo for the panel. What can be the cause?

    1.    elav <° Linux said

The separators I always put the option to be transparent. And yes, the Session Manager in xfce4-panel 4.8 does that, with the new version it doesn't 😀

      1.    hokasito said

Thanks, elav, quick to answer like lightning ... xDDD.

The problem is that it happens to me having the transparent separators, but when applying the theme they look like a kind of strange block.

On the other hand, from what I understand in what you say, are you using a snapshot or a build that you have made from the XFCE source, or is there already 4.10 packages in Debian?

        1.    elav <° Linux said

Do you have the Xfce Composer activated?

xD No, the new panel I tested when I used Archlinux 😀

  11.   hokasito said

Yes, the composer is activated. I thought that would be that so I made sure beforehand that it was set, since not having it is sometimes a problem with certain applications, like Conky. More ideas? If not, it doesn't matter, your help is appreciated… 🙂

Nice theme, although it is too blue for my liking, in Xfce I use the Prudence Monochrome theme along with the Clearlooks OSX icons. What icons are used in the screenshot?

    Greetings.

    1.    hokasito said

If I'm not mistaken, they are the Faenza icons. Let them correct me if I am not right.

      1.    Maxwell said

Wow, I downloaded them and apparently they were those. Thanks for the information.

        Greetings.

Debian and XFCE are the best, of course if you like to "tune" your OS to taste.
