The problems emerged in the development of Fedora 18 have been forced to delay until 8 January de 2013 the release of the final version of this popular Linux distribution. |
Initially, the final version of Fedora 18 was scheduled to be released on November 6, but its arrival was finally delayed for two months.
As for the Beta version, if there are no last minute changes, it should be ready on November 27.
The delays have been caused by the numerous bugs detected in the operating system, most of which affect Anaconda, the tool used to install Fedora 18.
From the Linux distro they recognize that they are receiving record numbers of notices about bugs detected, and it seems that discussions among the user community are being frequent.
For now we will have to wait to see if the new date is really met and Fedora 18 is released on January 8, since seeing the panorama it would not be surprising that there were new delays.

I use fedora 17 and I'm waiting for 18, Fedora is better than ubuntu and until the bugs are corrected, I don't even dare to install the trial versions (beta or alpha) I will wait until the final version arrives. And long live fedora
That's right ... I prefer it to come out a few months later but to be stable. Hug! Paul.

luckily Fedora is not like Ubuntu, prefer to correct your system well before meeting the proposed release dates.
This of the delays in the releases of Fedora is nothing new or too worrying, since it is part of the philosophy of this distro not to deliver the product until it reaches the usual quality standards: "latest technology, maximum innovation and acceptable stability" without necessarily sticking to a fixed calendar, something similar to what openSUSE 12.2 did, and which by the way was not bad at all.
