I come from distant lands, seeking to recover what CrunchBang Linux once was, mainly its philosophy, and now it's time to test these deliveries.

Crunchbang still works quite well but the problem that I find with all these lightweight distributions is that you end up in the end downloading libraries for applications that are not intended for lightweight distributions.

I, rather than worrying about installing light distributions, I try to find out which of them is the one with the most adapted applications

@AMEM: I was also delighted with Crunchbang (Wheezy), the closest I found, is in the Debian fork: Devuan, but specifically in a derivative: Good Life Linux, less than 100 mb, with Openbox at boot ( it takes a few seconds to start the system, this is thanks to not having Systemd as init). But try any of its derivatives or Devuan itself, you will not regret it: https://devuan.org/os/partners/devuan-distros
Ah! and as a color data, there is a derivative called Crunkbong, does it sound familiar? … I haven't tried it 🙁 so I can't speak.

Good morning, actually installing these distros is interesting, but at the time of installing the peripherals it arises for me inconveniences (it can be overcome by researching) basically if I want to give my installation a set of tools for workstations as points of sale ... if I need install a tiketera printer, a barcode reader, the touch screen and thus add value to your linux installation with Ubuntu 16.04.5 on an Atom N270 1.6. Mem 1gb is somewhat slow but for now it is the one that is giving me more options when looking for solutions to install peripherals. Thank you

If Ubuntu works for you and you need something lighter, but well cared for and compatible, Lubuntu may be a good option.

These distros are intended for older PCs (I highly recommend Puppy in this regard), not for modern equipment with few features: try Xubuntu or Lubuntu.
