8th Latin American Festival of Free Software Installation 2012

The international festival of free software installation (FLISOL) is organized in many countries is by the corresponding free software user groups with the aim that those interested get to know something more about the world of FOSS and participate in meetings and exchanges of opinions on the subject. Also, in this event you will get help to to install the distribution Linux of your preference

On April 28, user groups and social organizations linked to Free Software will work together to carry out FLISOL, the Latin American Festival for the Installation of Free Software, which will be held in more than 200 cities throughout the continent. In Argentina, the festival will be held in parallel in more than 30 cities throughout the country.

Free software refers to the freedom of users to run, copy, distribute, study, modify software and distribute modified software. There are numerous free programs to carry out daily tasks related to the use of computers, from operating systems such as the different variants of GNU / Linux to office applications such as LibreOffice, web browsers such as Firefox.

Free Software is often confused with Free Software, but free software is not an inherent condition of the freedom of the program, rather it is often achieved through the freedom to copy it without limitations and legally.

The festival offers installations and talks that bring together non-technical people and beginners who want to learn more about the philosophy and essential concepts of Free Software. Both the facilities and the participation in the talks are free.

The first step to participate is to locate the event closest to our home. For those who wish to participate in the facilities, it is only necessary to bring the CPU or laptop as appropriate. An important recommendation is to always make a complete backup copy of all the information contained on the hard disk of the computer that we are going to install.

To sign up for the nearest FLISOL, I suggest you look for a group of free software users in your region / country. In the case of Capital Federal - Argentina, those who organize the event are the friends of CaFeLug.

A lot of strength for all these types of activities. It is essential to teach and educate people in relation to the use and philosophy of free software.

In these days I will be visiting La Plata !.

I comment that this year in La Plata FLISOL is being developed within the TEC La Plata exhibition, where consultants, faculties and other La Plata entities will attend and present on technology in general. The show started these days, and I still couldn't go, so I see if I'll be gossiping. If anyone is interested, visit their website keyplata.com.

I look like a SPAMER hahaha, but I think it's nice to visit, but it is in the Republic of Children. So they can even go as a Family 😉
