Greetings to all readers of DesdeLinux. I am writing this post to tell you that in the next 2 weeks I will be somewhat absent from the blog, it is not really due to vacation, or because I have a health problem or anything similar.
The main reason is that I have a new job and I have less time to be here among you. I hope that as time progresses and I adjust to the new schedule, I will find a way to stay as active as before, and I will try to write everything I can in the evening to publish it the next day. However, we still have the active participation of perseus, dwarf and the rest of the excellent contributors to our site.
As a novelty, I tell you that in that job they assigned me a Netbook (HP Mini), from which I am writing now and which I have running with Xubuntu 12.04. As I explained to you, I have very little time and I don't have much experience with this type of device, so I cannot experiment with my Debian trying to find all the necessary packages to make it work 100%.
I thought about installing LMDE Xfce, but sadly as we know, Xfce 4.10 is still a long way from entering Testing, and now for Xubuntu we have a PPA that works perfectly. Also, the trackpad does not work as it should, and although the solution may be easy, I need everything to work the first time. And that's how things are.
With this processor (Intel Atom) Xubuntu it behaves quite well, although it suffers a bit when I'm copying a lot of data. The netbook has 1GB of RAM and the performance is more than acceptable, since the consumption does not exceed 250MB using basic applications. But nothing, returning to the subject, I hope to be among you again as soon as possible, and since I do not know if that will be viable in the short term, I write this post, so you know in case I am absent for a long time.
Thanks for staying with us.
Good luck elav.
Well friend, I wish you the best of success in your new activity, I am completely sure that you will know how to make time for the blog, take things easy that everything will work out very well.
I sincerely wish you the best of luck bro. You are going to be missed a lot around here, don't leave us for a long time, okay? TT
Good luck and much success Elav
Good luck: D!
Successes =)
Good luck Elav ... And that time tends to pass ... I no longer have time to experiment with Slackware so I'm switching to Fedora
greetings and good luck
Good luck in your new endeavor, greetings!
Good luck friend". I fully understand your situation, I work between nine and ten hours a day and that affects me. I don't publish everything I want and when I do it could be better. But my blog is personal and I have no one to replace me ...
Greetings.
As we Cubans say, "go ahead my brother, and put a candle to him, that with a candle is going." Good luck in the new pincha… xD
May the Force be with you
Yes, he needs strength ... he is having to carry a lot of computers up and down the stairs ... LOL !!
Good luck. For your colleagues or when you can: I recently had knowledge of a very interesting utility called FreedomBox ( http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreedomBox ) and a great post that talks about very useful tools: http://www.pillateunlinux.com/8-herramientas-para-proteger-tu-privacidad-en-internet/ . Hopefully you like them around here and you can echo them on this blog so that more and more people get to know them and use them for our good. Thanks a lot
Good luck in your new career Elav, work in these times is not the first, but almost ... Greetings.
Brother,
I hope that God and the skill of your knowledge will move you to the side of the victorious, I hardly know him but I know you can. voice you are free and people are free, they have time for everything ...
Luck.
Success, Elav! I hope it goes very well for you and that when you are adapted, you can return to Desde Linux. I am very grateful to you for everything I have learned in your articles. Right now I am also on my "netbook" with Xubuntu 12.04 working wonderfully and this morning I installed it for a friend who without thinking twice wanted to enter the Linux world. Ha ha ha.
He saw me working on my netbook yesterday and he liked it for his laptop, so today I went and sent him his filthy, disgusting $ 7 pirate Window to blow up. With that pseudo operating system it took a minute and a half for the login screen to appear. Now, with Xubuntu 12.04 it takes… twelve seconds !!! I couldn't believe it myself. Another user losing Microsoft! Long live GNU / Linux!
See you soon, Elav.
Wow ... I thought I was the only one who had preferred Xubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 12.04 but hey ... that's life lol
We will miss their educational contributions.
Congratulations elav, calm down and accommodate your schedule. And how good about the HP Mini, I hope you enjoy Xubuntu 😉
Good luck in your new job and many successes, we will be waiting for you. ; D
Good luck with the new Elav job, and here is another one that writes from a netbook that you enjoy, they can be very useful, in the end you will get used to it so much that going back to the desktop pc will be quite strange xD.
Thank you all for the encouragement ^^. Anyway as you see, there will be days when everything will be as always 😀
I sincerely hope that you do very well in your new job and I hope you continue to publish here soon.
Since I started reading your articles on elavdeveloper, I noticed the honesty and quality you have as a blogger (and I don't doubt that also as a person). Along with KZKG^Gaara and all the other people who have gone to sleep desdelinux, have managed to build a good space for learning and communication.
Greetings.
Good luck with your new job, I hope you won't be long in coming back here (don't keep up with the Xfce developers :-)).
By the way, forget about LMDE Xfce, I installed it and I'm sorry now…. unstable, no updates (not even Firefox), etc ...
