The sources related to the new version are placed in the project's Git repository (android-10.0.0_r1 branch). Firmware updates have already been prepared for 8 Pixel series devices, including the first Pixel model. Universal sets of Generic System Images (GSI) were also formed, suitable for different devices based on ARM64 and x86_64 architectures.
While in the coming months, Android 10 updates will be released for the different current phone brands such as Sony Mobile, Xiaomi, Huawei, Nokia, Vivo, OPPO, OnePlus, ASUS, LG and Essential.
What's new in Android 10
With the release of this new version of Android sand introduced the Mainline project, which allows upgrading of individual system components without updating the entire platform. This downloads similar updates via Google Play separately from the manufacturer's OTA firmware updates.

Multimedia and graphics
For the graphics part the new graphical API Vulkan 1.1 stands out. Compared to OpenGL ES, using Vulkan can significantly reduce the load on the CPU (up to 10 times in Google tests) and increase rendering performance.
On the other hand added experimental support for ANGLE layer implementation (Almost Native Graphics Layer Engine) on top of the Vulkan Graphics API. ANGLE allows interaction, abstracting from the specific APIs of different systems, thanks to the translation of OpenGL ES calls to OpenGL, Direct3D 9/11, Desktop GL and Vulkan).
For game and graphics developers, ANGLE allows the normal OpenGL ES driver to be used on all devices using Vulkan.
Applications for working with the camera and the images tomay request that the camera transfer additional XMP metadata in a JPEG file, including the information needed to process depth in photographs.
