Been announced the launch of the version 2012.05 from one of the most popular distributions based on ArchLinux: ArchBang.
ArchBang uses OpenBox as Desktop Environment and in this version it brings us the following changes:
- QDarkStudio4 as theme gtk default;
- Shotwell becomes the image viewer;
- Improvements in Conky;
- epdfview replaces Zathura;
- The panel tint2 now it is simpler and cleaner;
- Improved support for Broadcom;
- It adds VirtulaBox Arch Linux;
- mobile broadband modem capability added to NetworkManager.
You can download the iso from the following links:
I'm between Arch and Debian since I have to start over because they broke into my house to steal and among the many things they took was my computer. to configure Debian in a minimal installation .... I'm sure I lean towards the Debian derivative
When you say improvements in broadcom, what do you mean ???
Do you mean that my broadcom 4318 with wifi will go away ????
And the monitor mode, will I go ????
Thanks to Archbang I entered Arch, and very happy about it 🙂
Archbang is a great way to get a fully functional Arch in record time. At least it helped me to get started, although I later decided to go through the whole process with Arch.
Hello, I know that this should probably not be said here but I don't know where to put it xD, does anyone know how to set the chrome user agent to output that I use chrome and ubuntu? Ubuntu at least the page does not detect it

Thanks to Archbang, I also started in Arch. In fact, I'm going to download it to have it on hand as a live CD in case my Arch takes over (which sometimes happens) 😛
I tried it and I really liked it, but I was never able to change the screen resolution, or manage to activate the quick access buttons on my laptop keyboard.
I just installed it, the resolution with the free drivers recognized me perfectly.
Another distro that I need to test I hope it is not as loaded as chakra.
