It has just been launched with interesting news the version 2.2.0 from one of my favorite editors for HTML: Bluefish.

Bluefish 2.2.0 is the beginning of the series 2.2 and it has a huge amount of changes:

  • Bluefish now work with gtk3 (Gtk2 is still supported.
  • The syntax scanner is now faster, which is especially noticeable when working on large files.
  • Bluefish 2.2.0 has a new search function which is now integrated into the main window and the new function is compatible with Search for and replace files on disk (next to the documents already open).
  • Another new feature is that it includes a comment function that is activated and sensitive to comment. HTML (<- ->) and JavaScript (/ /).
  • Another new feature is the autocompletion of user-defined functions, and a jump function that will immediately take you to the definition of a function.

In addition to all these new features, many existing features have been improved and polished including support for new languages such as Google Go, Vala and Ada. See introduction to Bluefish 2.2.0 en this link. It is downloadable from here.

The funny thing is that the image shows version 2.2.1, I guess it's the Unstable branch.
