From the cinnamon blog we get the news that includes the File manager de Linux Mint, a fork of Nautilus called Nemo and the popular Shell for Gnome: Cinnamon.
The changes are as follows:
Nemo 1.0.4:
- Fixed Alt + Arrows keyboard shortcut
- An extension is added to set Wallpapers from Nemo.
- Open-as-root now calls Nemo itself (as opposed to xdg-open)
- Nemo now starts automatically if org.gnome.desktop.background desktop-icons are true or false
Cinnamon 1.6.2:
- New "keyboard bindings" on Cinnamon settings page
- Fixed alignment in notification pop-ups
- Prevent non-gtk-systray-icons from disappearing in displayed
- Window list applet: Fixed regression to close all and close others.
- Doesn't hide Spotify from the system tray
- Updated translations
- altTab: Fixed the size of the thumbnails.
- Fixed conky / mintUpload on Alt-tab
- Alt-tab: Icons + Thumbnails as default option
- Notifications enabled and default settings applets
- Ignore GNOME settings to manage the desktop (Nemo should always start)

Consult, a while ago I tried Cinnamon, but I did not find a way to change the response time in which the menu appears (when I press on menu, it takes 2 seconds to appear).
Do you have any idea where that parameter is modified?
That parameter appeared in the menu when it was used on Gnome, I don't know if Cinnamon includes it right now. Anyway, you should look carefully at the preferences.
cool xD right now I update my manjaro linux cinnamon 😛 it was kde but I uninstalled the whole environment and sent gnome with cinnamon and nemo but the git version: 3 that a few days ago I updated it to version 1.0.3 and with big changes already Now the option to open the terminal and the one to open as root works since they did not work before 😛 but now it works better for me than the nautilus itself and it is much faster when opening the folders and files also nemo is easier to write in the terminal Instead of nautilus that sometimes did not let me cure it in the terminal to use it as root xD I do it like this sudo -u root nemo xD so it's easier than putting sudo -u root nautilus 😛 hehe
I think 1.6.3 has just been released? haha
One question… has anyone tried the 2D session? I'm really interested in her, but from what I remember they said she's not mature for now.
To easily install Cinnamon in openSUSE you can refer to this article: http://guiadelcamaleon.blogspot.com.es/2012/10/como-instalar-cinnamon-162-opensuse.html.
A greeting.
