In this new version of the utility that is presented, it is highlighted that a new backup catalog format is enabled, which requires the simultaneous update of the Director process and the Storage Daemon, which is in charge of providing the resources to save the backups.
It is mentioned that File Daemon needs to be updated if running on the same system than the new Director or Storage, plus the necessary tools are included to automate the conversion from the old to the new catalog format, but the upgrade process will require approximately twice the disk space of the current backup catalog.
Another change that stands out in the new version is the implemented support for “storage pools”, as well as that a complement has been added for Kubernetes.
In addition to this, it is also noted that it was added an option to save only the ACLs and metadata file separately and added support for Windows CSV (Cluster Shared Volumes).
On the other hand, it is mentioned that the object catalog now offers the possibility of using labels, FileSet allows SHA256 and SHA512 hashes and that the ability to authenticate through LDAP has been added.
