Cairo Dock 3 available!

Cairo Dock 3.0 is a app launcher animated for Linux which runs under GNOME, KDE or XFCE.

Cairo Dock 3.0 has been rewritten using GTK3, achieving a more visually pleasing interface and greater integration with Gnome-Shell, although it also integrates perfectly in Unity, in the case of Ubuntu. The taskbar is now somewhat larger and the text has been improved, the addition of other applications and several keyboard shortcuts have been added, allowing you to easily configure access to our favorite tools.

Another novelty is that it includes a session manager, from which we can change users. This is the complete list of news and improvements:

  • Allows you to disable OpenGl if our graphics chip does not support 3D acceleration.
  • Versions for Gnome-shell and Unity, selectable on the home screen.
  • The applet's output record has been rewritten, it now allows users to switch.
  • Shortcut keys have been added to various applets.
  • A launcher can be activated by pressing a ShortKey + its number.
  • The Ubuntu sound menu has been integrated into the applet.
  • Allows one-click “tweeting”.
  • A new applet to inhibit the screen saver.
  • The dividers are now transparent.
  • Additions to the DBus API.
  • Text drawing has been improved (for example, on the clock).
  • User icons and themes are now loaded appropriately.
  • A new default theme with a panel is included in the basic package.
  • Many other improvements and bug fixes.
  • In the cairo dock 3.0 version, a new session has been added that allows you to use cairo dock 3.0 with the Unity of the 2D top panel:

Installation

GLX-Dock, is available for installation in the main Linux distributions. Although today it has only been updated for Ubuntu, it will not take long to be available in the rest of the distros.

For Ubuntu users who do not have it installed yet, they just have to type the following from the terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: cairo-dock-team
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cairo-dock cairo-dock-plugins

On the Cairo Dock 3.0 page there is a very complete installation guide for the rest of the distributions.

It is very good, but I get a black bar next to the normal bar, which becomes unpleasant and does not serve any function. Does anyone know how to remove said black space? Anyone else has happened?
    Greetings.
