Viewing Python exercises in a page I found this that caught my attention, it is called CDpedia.
CDPedia is a Python Argentina project which allows access to Wikipedia information but without the need for an Internet connection, it is currently in version 0.8 and the information included is during December 2012, including images. It works on any operating system and is Free Software, so you can distribute it.
Without a doubt, it is a very good option for people who do not have much Internet access.
For more information and download it visit the project page.
cdpedia I could never make it work and see that I tried it in a thousand ways: -S. Instead I use Kiwix, although it takes time to index it is what I use and it works fine.
Let's try it to see how it works!
Regards!
I particularly use aarddict. In addition to Wikipedia, which in Spanish weighs 2GB without images, I can also have a wikidictionary and wikicitas. All offline
The wikipedia projects on cd / dvd would be very good for people who do not have an Internet connection, but from what I have read for several years, they do not have much support, nor communities of collaborators who achieve a good product.
Excellent I will download it.
But it sure takes up a lot. no? I mean that wikipedia has a lot of articles.
It has 4 versions from the cd version that weighs 702 mb with 78500 pages, 6% of the images to the 11 gb version that has all the articles and all the images. If you check the project page you will see the details of the other versions.
