The decision came from the Ubuntu Develoment Summit, where some of the main advantages of Chromium were considered: its incredible speed, that it is being built on the basis of good code, that it has an excellent maintenance cycle and a growing community of developers involved. with the project.
On the other hand, some of its "cons" were also mentioned, such as the non-native look (which is terribly out of step with the new position of the window icons, now on the left), the lack of support for scrollbars and the difficulties to integrate Chromium with the new Global Menu that will come in UNE 10.10.
In short… further proof that Firefox 4 has many challenges ahead. However, I must add that another fundamental drawback of Chromium is its extremely high memory usage compared to, for example, Firefox, which is a huge disadvantage on netbooks that don't come with much memory.
