This environment is a divergence from the GNOME Shell and the Muttin window manager and has been named by the Cinnamon developers as Muffin. Although Cinnamon was originally developed for Linux Mint, We can already have all its success in other distributions and its installation does not present much difficulty and of course, that is a reasonable excuse to try it. cinnamon-28

And is that Cinnamon 2.8 brings us some novel features that have been designed to satisfy that group of users who are not entirely satisfied with GNOME and they are looking for something that is more adapted to the traditional. Beyond its look that leans towards the traditional, it places great importance on graphic effects, and it also incorporates the functionalities that are in other modern desktops and that have marked the way forward. The truth is that with the appearance of Plasma 5 and no desktop environment makes sense; Plasma is not only the best, but as good as it is, it is already unique, the rest is garbage.

Above all, you have to respect, if there is one thing I have learned from the Linux world, it is that there is freedom of choice… Not because you like Plasma 5 and the other environments are disposable, that's selfish on your part, linux brother ... I use Cinnamon and it seems quite stable and light to me. Also, you must remember that not all users have the same technology to support Plasma 5 in your PCs ..
      Sldos from Cuba… .. 🙂

What good is it if it is the best if it is the most unstable? And as they said, it is the most stupid comment there is

As my linux brothers said earlier, "This is the stupidest comment on the web", I use Gnome, I have my reasons….

Toño, the fact that you like Plasma 5 would not have to suppose that you rant against the rest of the Linux desktops. I myself am a Plasma 5 user, but I also use Cinnamon and am very happy with the latter. Learn to respect the developers of the rest of the desktops, keep in mind that most of them strive to develop them without receiving anything in return.

Something about the news xDDD but thanks. The truth is that the new thing that cinnamon brings is great, although it lacks improvements, I feel that it is on the right track and to tell the truth I've been using this environment for 4 months and I loved it more than KDE 5 or GNOME Shell. The reason is its stability and simplicity I hope that it does not lose it over time.

Oh something I want to say. I admit that kde 4 or 5 is beautiful, I used it for a year, therefore I love it very much and it has many things that simplify it for the user. But the fact that it has so many things and the demands of the user makes its first version releases, not pleasant, but in Fin it is an excellent environment, but it is not my type.
