GIMP has received a new update version 2.10.10 which adds a large number of enhancements to this popular image editor.
As explained in the official announcement, the new version of GIMP comes with new features, optimizations, and stability fixes.
One of the most important improvements involves the fill tool, which received a new mode called "Line Art Detection". As the developers explain “This new algorithm for designers allows you to fill in areas surrounded by line art, while trying not to leave pixels near the lines and closing some areas."
Additionally, this new version improves the experience Quick Color, you can now select nearby colors with the modified Ctrl, all without having to launch the selector.
As well there are improvements to the transform tool, including the scaling tool that now scales from the center even when using numeric input. There are brush enhancements, such as support for 32-bit parametric brushes.
"An improvement for designers was making the 32-bit parametric brushes, assisting in color processing. The main advantage will be to avoid posterization on long brushes, especially with dark images. It is good to note that the brushes are still 8-bit. Promoting them to 32-bit is a job of the future."
