GitHub launches a client for Windows

What do we do talking about Windows? Well it turns out Github, the popular hosting service for thousands of open source systems and daily work tool from programadores worldwide, has announced in su Blog a version for Windows.

Although Git is version control software originally designed by Linux kernel creator Linus Torvalds, and the vast majority of projects hosted on GitHub are open source, not all hosted projects are free software.

This new client will lower the barrier to service entry for Windows users, who already account for about half of GitHub's traffic. The tool will update automatically and provides a graphical interface for the most important functions of the service, including repository cloning, branching and committing changes.

GitHub for Windows 1.0 is free, although not free software. 🙁 Shame on you!
