Gnome nanny is a parental control system that allows you to set the amount of time and even at what specific times of the day your children or any other user can use the computer, surf online and chat or send messages. It also allows filter the websites that user can or cannot access. I'm not sure it's the best way to educate a child, but it's true that in some cases there is no other way ... 🙁
Installation on Ubuntu
1.- Add the Gnome Nanny PPA and install the program:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa: nanny sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install nanny
2.- Once installed, you can run the program from System> Administration> Parental Control.
Its use is very simple, simply select the user to whom you want to apply restrictions and establish the settings that seem appropriate to you regarding the number of hours that the user will be able to use the computer, the time range in which they will be able to do it, the pages that may or may not access, etc.
This tool is very good so that my children do not get porn .. they stay up, I say stay up late like their dad who sets them a bad example.
What does the Ubuntu label paint here?
How would it compare to TimeKeeper?

It has been of great help but step two is not like that, it is not installed, it is downloaded to the computer, and once you have it, you look for it in administration and you install it.
