What's new in the new version 4.2 of GNU Health Hospital Management
According to the official announcement on the GNU organization's Savannah website , among the many new features of this release, the following 10 can be mentioned:
- It now offers support available for 35 languages.
- Adds a new section called “Focus on” within the main patient form.
- The Vital Registration System (VRS) can now issue reports on birth and death certificates.
- It adds improved functionality and ergonomics in handling medical images, and the surgery package has been extensively revised and improved.
- It includes the instance and connection information visible in the GTK client title, and improved functionality regarding insurance handling and billing.
- Demographics can now agree to enter estimated age / date of birth.
- Health services now have the functionality to "bundle" all the tests of a single order (laboratory and medical images).
- The availability of a new report called “Best Patient Encounter/Assessment” that summarizes key information from the assessment.
- On the technical side, unit tests on each package have been improved, speeding up load times on large data files and using python-sql for most queries.
- GNU Health now supports REUSE (Free Software Foundation Europe). Which is important because REUSE makes it easy to document and exchange licenses for free projects like GNU Health.
