Goodbye to Flash on Android

The last 15 of August, Adobe ended its support for Flash in the systems Android.

Those who have an Android terminal with Flash installed will be able to continue opening content in that format, but they will no longer obtain support official and new updates. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich would be the last one in which Flash would come installed.

Adobe is undertaking a withdrawal from the Linux world and this new announcement is part of a clear and consistent policy. Let's not forget that in February of this year, Adobe announced that it would not provide more Flash support on Linux systems (except for critical or security updates), with Chrome / Chromium being the only Internet browser for Linux that would get new updates. Even before that, Adobe stopped releasing updates for AIR.

Where is Adobe pointing with all this? Apparently towards his own destruction: contributing to the development of HTML 5.

However, this is great news for lovers of free software. From now on, the two platforms that dominate the mobile device market, iOS and Android, no longer have Flash support, which enhances the development of formats supported by the new standards (HTML 5, CSS 3, etc. ).

Well, the Adobe people are not stupid and have long sponsored the HTML5 tool suite createjs (createjs.com), in addition to working on Adobe Edje, which will be the equivalent of Flash development software. In fact right now createjs is the best group of tools out there for working in HTML5.

Anyway, for me, FLASH has always been the cancer of the Internet, it will be good for other things, but for the Internet we already have HTML5, PHP5 AND JQUERY that allow us to do everything that flash did in a web page and without neglecting the standards and compatibility between browser and devices!

    DEATH TO FLASH!
