Google Chrome v.10 available!

Google Chrome was updated a few days ago to its version 10, just in time before the Pwn2Own competition in which different internet explorers are subjected to the clutches of the best hackers in the world to see if they can "break" them and find fault with them. security. This version represents a significant improvement over the previous one and shows, once again, that Firefox is still one step behind in some respects.

Some of the most important improvements introduced in this version:

  • New version of V8 - Crankshaft - which greatly improves javascript speed
  • New configuration pages, which replace the configuration windows
  • Security improvements with malware reporting and disabling outdated plugins by default
  • Adoble Flash will now be in a "sandbox" in Windows
  • Password sync enabled by default in Chrome Sync
  • Support for video playback using the GPU
  • Support for WebApps that "run in the background"
  • API to extend webNavigation
  • and a bunch of security hole fixes

Ahahaha… in any case the last point was badly written.

In my Arch I am faithful to Chromium and IF YOU KEEP YOUR EYELASHES CLOSED !!!! … So FAIL for Luis.

    Greetings.

Does it come with "a lot of security holes" ?? Luckily I'm still faithful to the Fire Fox ...

I quit Chrome and went back to Firefox as Chrome won't save me the tabs I was reading when I shut down the computer.

Firefox works a little slower than chrome, but for me it is very important that I save the tabs.

That should be fixed before releasing a new version.

In preferences> basic there is an option in chrome called "Reopen the pages that were last opened". In my case I use Chrome instead of firefox in Ubuntu 10.10 AMD64 for its speed, although in the html5 tests the Linux version does not have WebGL or Chrome or Chromium - which is one version ahead - and Firefox does, I don't know why Not ALL browsers focus on getting a 100% score in the HTML5 test or as close as possible, can someone explain it to me? http://html5test.com/index.html

The Xmarks add-on saves your tabs in case you want to continue using Chromium.

weird ... if I save the tabs ... even (in theory) with add-ons if I am on different computers I can keep those tabs ... obviously on different computers you can access your bookmarks but that is already by default ... be careful if chrome is the same equal to chromium but my blue disk has not failed me yet ...

Yes it saves them. They're on the new tab page, at the bottom, Recently Closed.

And in Preferences, On startup, «Reopen the pages that were open last».

Just so you know, in the last hacker contest that was just started, the only two that haven't been blocked are firefox and «a lot of security holes, I mean, chrome 😉

But, as usual, Flash is not in good shape even if they pull a couple of donkeys. The day Adobe decides to optimize the plugin will have to go from version 10.2 to 102.0 A hoot to move the shortcuts of the applications, I needed to put some order. Now only the folders are missing in it. The configuration page feels more proper being integrated. And the rest little more to mention except for the new V8, really.
