Hacklabs near us?

Hello everyone, this is my first post on DesdeLinux and I wanted not only to introduce a concept such as the Hacklab, but with the collaboration of other users to find out about the different Hacklabs that exist in the different countries, cities where members of this community live.

First of all, what is a hacklab?
According to Wikipedia:

Un hack lab (hacker laboratory), hackspace or hackerspace (English: space for / for hackers) is a physical site where people with interests in science, new technologies, and digital or electronic arts can meet, socialize and collaborate. It can be seen as an open community laboratory, a space where people from diverse backgrounds can come together. It makes available to amateurs and students of different levels the infrastructure and environment necessary to develop their technological projects. The purpose of a hackspace is to concentrate resources and knowledge to encourage research and development.

I think (and tell me if I'm wrong, it may be a partial view, or who knows ... prejudicial), that sometimes we live and participate in online communities, we even make friends in them that last for years, but we lose the human factor. Surely in our city there are a lot of people who are interested in the same things.

We spend hours and hours (and this at least in my case), looking at tutorials and manuals to learn such a thing, to do such an experiment and then it's just that, you've learned that for sure, but have we really shared? Maybe yes, maybe later I will post it on my blog, in the forum in which I participate or right here on DesdeLinux and it helps a lot of people (that's for sure!) but I'm missing something.

It's just a reflection, but for me, that's what a Hacklab is for. How come there isn't a hacklab in every neighborhood or in every city?

I continue with wikipedia:

With a hack lab A cooperative learning and organization system is usually used and using free software due to the freedoms it offers (self-learning, free knowledge). There is an important ideological component in the organization of hacklabs, 1 2 however those who organize and those who participate in hacklabs see it as a place to learn and experiment rather than see it as a militancy.

In addition to the main purpose, hackspaces present the following opportunities:

  • Organize technology courses (programming, electronics and mechanical design at all levels)
  • Teach courses focused on innovation and design
  • Carrying out social activities
  • Participate in the development of group projects
  • Investigate, debate and disseminate issues related to the internet, new technologies and civil rights in these areas

Currently 783 active hackerspaces appear on hackerspaces.org3

The first hacklabs arose in Italy from the first Italian hackmeeting hack in 1998, but it was in Barcelona where the first hacklab in Spain was created: Kernel Panic, from the first Spanish hackmeeting in 2000. There are currently about twenty-two hacklabs in Spain and they continue to grow in number. From the meeting held in Madrid, in April 2006, called Interhacklabs Conference, new hacklabs began to appear in Latin American countries, such as in the case of Chile, Hackreta, in Argentina, LowLab in Planet X or in Bolivia, Hacklab Bolivia and Mexico with HackLab Autónomo (formerly ZAM).

So, do we know hacklabs where we live that are active? Go saying and we can make a list.

The truth is that it seems like an excellent idea. It is not the same to comment with comments written on a blog, than to discuss face to face with several people at the same time. Much must be learned.

I never went, but I always wanted to go especially because of what they mention about it. It happens that I have left behind. But for my payments there is one that has a legend level from what those who attend count.
