Some KDE developers have created a project called Launcher Homerun, to reproduce the functionalities of Unity or GNOME activities in KDE. |
Thanks to Homerun it is possible to browse the installed applications and start them or add them to the favorites list and access them quickly from the home page.
Homerun also lists our favorite places / folders and allows you to browse them. Clicking on an item in the "Favorite Places" section will list the contents of this folder. So we will be able to navigate through the folders to open a document without having to use a file manager.
- Home: our apps and folders
- Applications: the programs grouped into categories.
- Documents: recently used folders and documents
- Power: from here we can change user, log off, restart or turn off the computer.
Installation
En Kubuntu:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa: blue-shell / homerun
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install homerun
En Arch and derivatives:
yaourt -S kdeplasma-applets-homerun
I have it installed by default in Netrunner but I don't know why when I first start the system; when I touch it for the first time it turns me to the second desktop, I have to close and open the first desktop and then it does not give that problem again. Any ideas?
