How to fix the error: "the package system is broken"

Sometimes when you are installing a program and not all dependencies are installed correctly, your package system will be corrupted and you will not be able to install new programs or make new updates. This mini-tutorial will help you get out of the squeeze.

The steps to follow are very easy:

1.- Ir a System> Administration> Synaptic Package Manager. Select the button Customizable filters> Roto. Problem packages should appear, which need to be uninstalled.

2.- Select all broken packages> right mouse click> Check to uninstall completely > click the button Apply.

Hello, I do what you propose but it tells me that the packages are essential for the system and if I uninstall them, the packages are the libapt-pkg4.12 and libapt-pkg4.12 libraries: i386, what can I do?
