How to install Epson T23 printer

La Epson T23 It is characterized by being a fairly cheap printer and, being Epson, the cartridges are also quite cheap. Unfortunately, despite the fact that Ubuntu has auto-detection of printers and so on, this particular model does not appear in the list of available drivers. The solutionAlthough it is simple (hence it is not worth doing a complete post), it can be very difficult to discover: when you connect it, Ubuntu will detect it and ask you what printer it is. By giving you the option of choose the driver from the printer, I chose the Stylus CX5600 (You will be tempted to choose the T20, but it will not work). Sure, you can name the printer whatever you want, but I chose that driver.

I lost the instructions, I need to know how to clean the nozzles and then how to do to test if it prints correctly.

I suggest that you read this article which details how to clean the nozzles, measure the ink level, etc. I warn you that it does not work for all printers.

One question, could you do something to see the ink level in the cartridges? I tried everything for my son's printer, Qink, Escputil and other applications, but there was no case. The weird thing is that in the previous versions of Ubuntu the Escputil worked wonders but in 10.04 with the Epson T23 there is no case.

Nope. If someone knows how to do it, I'm also interested ... 🙂

What a coincidence! I have a Stylus CX5600 xD. I don't know about the cartridges ... I only use it to scan since the cartridges were very expensive and they dried me.

good people !! take out of the trunk a flawless epson t23! I put continuous system, question that in windows does not add lastintas, and now I wanted to porbar with linux and I still do not have it clear with this system, to operation.
When I turn on the printer it does not recognize it, it does not emit any sound from a new device, can I do it manually what is mentioned above, to change the driver for another epson model? thanks

Hello, I installed the printer as T20 and uninstalled it to install it as CX5600, but when I reinstall it goes from the brand selection screen directly to the last one where the model is already chosen. Skip that step, as if it was saved somewhere. I have to completely uninstall the printer. As I do?
