I just opened a terminal and typed gconftool-2 –set / apps / metacity / global_keybindings / panel_main_menu –type string "Super_L". Attention: When using the Super key to open the main menu, other key combinations that include the use of that key may no longer function properly. 🙁
Thank you ... I already knew him but I changed the notebook and lost the trick ... now he's on again!
It can also be done graphically with the configuration editor ... it's very easy
There are people who use KDE, is this the same?
Nope. Only for GNOME. 🙁
Anyway, in case it is imperative for you to achieve this in KDE ...
I leave you this tutorial (in English), which explains how to do it: http://tuxtraining.com/2008/03/04/make-the-windows-key-on-your-keyboard-open-kmenu-in-kde#more-24
I didn't test it but it seems like it should work.
Does anyone by any chance know how to make the newly opened menu close by pressing the Super_L key again?
Regards,
Carlos
Excellent post, I will no longer have a useless key 😀
Greetings.
No idea, but it's a good question ... if someone knows the answer, I'd be interested in knowing it too.
Does it work for Lubuntu? I wrote the command in the terminal and nothing happened
