How to remove unwanted content from Facebook News Feed

This post is dedicated for users of Facebook, especially those to whom they are not interested in the least see who are Fulanito's new friends, or what the latest application of phrases from friend Menganita says. How to remove all this unwanted content? Easy: with a script compatible with the browsers Firefox, Google Chrome / Chromium, Safari and Opera.

The Script

Is called FB Purity, and was created by a Facebook user who simply despaired of seeing all the "news" on his News Feed, the main page of FB. What it basically does is do not allow that those publications appear (about quizzes, games, phrases, etc.) and only leave what the user is interested in.

Once you have it installed, go to Facebook, or if you are already logged in, reload the page. On your main page (News Feed or Noticias) a new line will appear, as in the image.

If you click on "FB Purity" you access the script settings, where you choose what you want to see or not in your news feed.

Click on the "show" option next to apps, if you want to allow the publications of certain applications to appear. First they click on "allow" or "allow" and then confirmation windows appear to add that app to their whitelist.

Firefox

There are two options to install it, but you can only have one of the two, otherwise, it does not work.

1) Install the addon by clicking here
2) You have to install the addon Greasemonkey and then install the script

Google Chrome / Chromium

The script is installed by clicking here

Safari

For version 5 users, click here

For older version users, they have to install first SIMBL, then install the addon grease kit and finally, install the script

Opera

For users of the new version (11) that supports extensions, click here

For users of previous versions:
Go to: Tools> Preferences> Advanced> Content> JavaScript options menu and choose the directory where you want to save the Greasemonkey scripts. They save the FB Purity script in that directory. To save it, right click here > Save as.
