I leave excellent news for The Community of WebOS -the multitasking operating system for embedded systems from HP- and OpenSource in general.
Just as promised, HP releases the source code of the web browser used in WebOS, which has as name ISIS. The objective is to keep the system alive with the help of the community, and it has undoubtedly been an excellent strategy. I have read the news in News, who also add:
As HP has published on its website, its work "will aim to incorporate the latest open source technologies, such as QtWebKit and JavaScriptCore, into the webOS platform." Isis, QtWebKit, and Qt 4.8 source code is available on GitHub where development will continue.
The Isis web browser will provide fast running of existing products such as Adobe Flash and other Netscape API (NPAPI) plug-ins, to allow them to run in non-X11 environments. It will also be available for mobile devices.
All the changes that are made can be seen on the project website https://github.com/isis-project/isis-browser/.
