Great, not only do they contribute to the kernel for the benefit of everyone, but they also donate money to continue promoting free software, I love RedHat as a company, good for them.

Excellent news, this not only shows that a business model such as Free Software is successful, but it is also a change in mindset. Sharing is good, profitable and beneficial for all 😉

Why didn't you donate to the Document Foundation !!! With a good dough (money) they could even pay a team of programmers and designers full time for a couple of months to change the interface to LibreOffice.

RetHat is not free? that is, can anyone install it?

No. It is one of the few distros that is paid.

        ahh I understand ... thank you 🙂

Oh yeah? I thought that what was charged was the support not the installation of CentOS

Red Hat is paid in its fully compiled version, and comes with technical support included. CentOS is a clone that uses Red Hat source code (which is free) and recompiles it by removing Red Hat trademarks.

diazepan .. how do you feel in window xp?

It's Windows 7. Comfortable using the Sony Vegas to do some things that I can't do with the kdenlive.

            1) Of course the Sony is cracked

            2) I only use Windows for things that I cannot do on my Linux Mint Debian Edition (which are few). I also have a program that is a digital guide of Montevideo, which looks horrible using wine

hey dad calm .. I asked the question without the intention of attacking I'm not @Courage 😉

I asked you because I have always been curious to ask users who have ever used linux and who are now under the microsoft platform ...

I imagine that the sony vega you cracked it .. nobody would pay for a window program 🙂

do you have both linux and windows systems or only windows?

Lynze: The pirate thing would be if it were closed source, but more or less it is. The most Red Hat did with CentOS was to remove all mention of Red Hat and remove its trademarks.

          8.    lynze said

In the words of RedHat employees: "CentOS is the pirated version of RedHat." The only distribution that supports RedHat is Fedora, which is the "testing" version of RedHat itself. CentOS is just a project that takes advantage of RedHat, although the latter no longer allows access to security updates.

Lynze .. when you say that fedora is "testing" by RedHat, do you mean that it is unstable or what?
