The Document Foundation has released the first RC (Final Candidate) version of the LibreOffice 6.1 suite inviting all developers to a last bug hunting session taking place today.
Today July 6, The Document Foundation plans to conduct the last bug-hunting session for LibreOffice 6.1 which is scheduled for release in mid-August 2018. This bug-hunt is planned to fix the latest bugs in the first version "release Candidate".
Any user interested in being part of this session where errors will be searched, reported and fixed can download the RC version of LibreOffice 6.1 from this link for different Linux distributions, the package comes in DEB and RPM. LibreOffice 6.1 is also available for macOS and Windows.
This day, from 7:00 UTC to 19 UTC, mentors will be available to answer questions or help through the IRC channel # libreoffice-qa and in the respective Telegram group. Also, there will be a time spent testing the new LibreOffice offline help system, from 2:00 to 16:00 UTC.
The second RC version of LibreOffice 6.1 available at the end of July
If you can't get into the bug search today, you can still help test LibreOffice 6.1 RC until the second version is released later this month.
A third RC version will be released in early August to remove the latest bugs before LibreOffice 6.1 hits the streets in the second week of August.
LibreOffice 6.1 is the first major update of this free office software after LibreOffice 6.0. It will be available for Linux, macOS, and Windows with new features and many improvements.
